A propósito de alguns mails e comentários neste blog.
A lista de músicas publicada, já resultou de uma escolha prévia. Há, obviamente, alguns temas (muitos) que passaram na IF, mas que não estão aqui incluídos. Ou passaram fugazmente pelo programa, ou, após estes 22 anos, revejo-me pouco neles. Por exemplo, sei que os Cure passaram pela IF, mas não foram nunca exemplo da sua linha sonora ou sequer de algumas incursões derivadas.
No entanto, reconheço já que deixei injustamente de fora, os Clash. Pelo menos : Charlie don't surf ; Rebel waltz ; The street parade ; Broadway ; If music could talk ; One more dub e Career Opportunities, tudo material de Sandinista, foram suficientemente utilizados para serem incluídos na lista.
O mesmo para Saudade, dos Love and Rockets. No entanto, este instrumental ficaria definitivamente ligado a outro programa de rádio : Sete Mares (excelente) programa nos fins-de-tarde da Antena 1, ainda na década de 80, realizado e apresentado (e com que voz !!!) por Sílvia Alves. Saudade, era o indicativo do programa.
A lista poderá ser um "work in progress", mas correrá sempre os riscos inerentes ao desvanecer da memória. Pretende-se chegar a uma colectânea que poderá ser publicada. Isto quer dizer que haverá ainda uma outra fase em que nos defrontaremos com questões relativas a autorizações.
Quanto a uma sugestão para uma IF com 22 horas ... uhm ... não me atrevo a desafiar o "maratonista" radiofónico que se chama José Braga ! ...

A Íntima Fracção completa 22 anos na próxima noite de sábado para domingo !
ÍNTIMA FRACÇÃO - o VÍDEO
O vídeo experimental, ÍNTIMA FRACÇÃO, de autoria do fotógrafo e videasta PAULO ABRANTES, foi exibido no passado sábado no Festival Black&White.
Graças ao Edgard Costa, do GavezDois, que distribui a IF em podcast e esteve presente no B&W para uma sessão sobre podcast, é possível ver o vídeo através da net. Obrigado Edgard !
Quanto ao vídeo, recorre a fotos feitas pelo Paulo Abrantes nos estúdios da TSF em Coimbra, algures no ano de 1990, acrescidas de muitas outras que, segundo o Paulo, prolongam nas imagens a emoção construída pelos sons da IF.
Este vídeo comoveu-me, que é a maneira eufemística de dizer que me fez chorar. O trabalho de imagem que se desenrola sobre pouco mais de 3 minutos de sons da IF, é uma visualização fragmentada, intensa, mas que toca no que posso chamar a "alma da Íntima Fracção" - ou será o coração ? A ligação entre o estúdio e as paisagens sonoras, finalmente transformadas em imagens (destino sempre procurado desde a edição 1 da IF), podia ter sido feita por mim. Mas não foi ! O facto da sensibilidade do Paulo Abrantes ter encontrado os caminhos, tantas vezes cobertos de bruma, ofereceu-me a paz e o conforto de me reconhecer não sózinho.
Devo acrescentar que o Paulo Abrantes ao longo de todos estes anos de Íntima Fracção, teve acesso apenas duas vezes ao estúdio onde se realizava a IF : uma na RDP, em 1989, outra na TSF, em 1990. Toda a experiência que o Paulo adquiriu sobre a IF foi, assim, sonora. O que me comoveu (conjecturo ! ...) terá sido o retrato fiel da ambiência de recolhimento e isolamento que sempre vivi no estúdio, cruzada com os grandes voos sonoros que de lá partem.
Uma enorme admiração pelo trabalho do Paulo Abrantes, é a única coisa que posso ainda dizer.
O ficheiro do vídeo está no formato WMV e pode ser visto no Windows Media Player ou no VLC no Linux, Mac e Windows.

Venho por este meio comunicar que me encontro (exausto), na letra S.
Dispenso as vossas recriminações. Sei que quebrei todos os compromissos, não cumpri uma única data marcada, coloquei em risco toda a estratégia, mas ... assumo ! ASSUMO ... muito trabalho, constipações, a chuva, automóveis estranhos estacionados no condomínio, falta de alento, perfeccionismo a mais, caixas de CDs partidas, cuecas de velhos vinis que se enrolam, impostos injustos, multas por não ter tirado o ticket, frango nos jantares às sextas em centros comerciais iluminados a néons de várias cores, a Maria a querer ir para a escola antes das oito da manhã, o Oscar do Nick, as músicas novas, o chá de jasmin a acabar, Bolonha, a Michelle a treinar comigo o inglês para falar nos Himalaias, o Ward afinal tem a casa com vista para o mar livre ainda para Julho, mas tudo incerto, vago, não sei mesmo se alguém me vai oferecer o iPod ... afinal, que vou eu fazer com esta lista ... ? É por tudo isto, entendem ? De uma vez por todas : eu não estou a fazer cera ! Mas claro, assumo, ASSUMO, ASSUMO, logo ... estou desculpado ... assumo que as informações que tinha sobre o Iraque estavam erradas, que o déficit não era aquele, que eu queria era refugiar-me ... ASSUMO, ASSUMO, caramba ! devo estar desculpado ! Quantas vezes será preciso dizer que ASSUMO ?

No trabalho (parece-me eterno) de encontrar as favoritas da IF, vou-me defrontando com o passado. Com os passados. Há pedaços, tão próximos, que no entanto me pareciam já esquecidos. Passando pelos finais dos anos 90 e princípios deste século, encontrei estes discos dos Mercury Rev.
Para a IF, não foram discos tão marcantes como muitos outros. No entanto, e que surpresa, afinal não me tinha esquecido deles e até soube bem voltar a ouvir duas ou três coisas.
De um de 1998, e do outro, de 2001, retive, por exemplo, Tides of the moon. Está em All is dream, e dele escreveram na Uncut :

A IF sempre voou sobre os mais diversos territórios. Ora no hoje, outras vezes entusiasmada pelas vistas (escutas) do amanhã, ou ainda perdida nos sentimentos irrecuperáveis e indizíveis do passado.
Agora, estamos todos convencidos de que a Primavera chegou : 22 /23º . Não confiem. Quinta-feira volta a chover.
Talvez por isto, no meio das minhas escutas apressadas dos novos sons de Dan Bejar - Destroyer, caiu-me, exactamente assim, caiu-me em cima, uma antiquíssima exaltação sobre o desespero, orquestrada também desesperadamente e com a voz (sempre no limite de imaginadas lágrimas) do actor (cantor ?) Richard Harris.
Diz (talvez cante) ele em MacArthur Park :

Não sei porquê, mas arrebatamentos como este, em difícil equilíbrio sobre o kitch, sempre se deram bem com corações eternamente desesperados. E como são eficazes apenas para aqueles que ali estão. Tal como os que, como diz Alcibíades, só ousam falar das dores sentidas pela mordedura de uma víbora, aos que passaram pelo mesmo. Para os outros, a descrição não é plausível.
Isto (MacArthur Park) por Richard Harris, é de 1 de Janeiro de 1968. Quem esteve por detrás foi Jimmy Webb e soa assim. A versão completa, inclui uma longa intervenção orquestral mais ou menos delirante que passarei em futura IF.

Julie Driscoll gravou o primeiro disco com 16 anos. "I Didn't Want To Have To Do It" (de que podem ouvir um sample em cima, foi gravado aos 18 anos).
Depois dos anos adolescentes, pouco depois dos 20 anos, disse a célebre frase, contrária a tudo o que é esteriótipo no mundo da música popular : entre o showbiz e a sanidade mental, escolhi a segunda. Há décadas que só grava o que quer, com o nome Julie Tippets. Se ouvirem, reconhecerão na soft diva, capacidade para cantar fosse o que fosse : pop, soul, rock, jazz, ... Consta que era também espantosa em palco.
